How much does waste management software cost?

Full waste management platforms, the kind that handle weighbridge integration, route planning and accounts, typically start around £50 a month and go up to £350 a month or more, often with custom quotes and per-seat fees. For a small transfer station or skip yard, that is a lot of software to pay for when the legal requirement is just to record and submit waste movements.

The DEFRA fee on top

Whichever route you take, DEFRA charges £26 a year for each organisation on your account to use the Digital Waste Tracking Service. That is fixed, applies to everyone, and is separate from software.

For a single-site operator who just needs to be compliant: around £26 a year to DEFRA, plus £12 a month for software, with a free tier to test on first. For a multi-site enterprise operation: considerably more.
