Skip hire software that works in the yard, not just the office
A skip hire company is both a carrier and a receiving site. The lorry collects a loaded skip from a customer and brings it back to your yard. From October 2026, the receiving side of that job has to be logged digitally with DEFRA within two working days.
That means every skip that comes back to the yard needs a digital waste transfer note. The waste type, the EWC code, the vehicle, the carrier details and the weight. LoadLog handles all of it from a tablet at the gate.
LoadLog runs on a phone or tablet wherever the skip comes in, so the operator logs the load at the point of return rather than taking notes back to the office.
The carrier registration check matters here too. Before a load is accepted, LoadLog checks the carrier number against the Environment Agency's public register. No more taking the driver's word for it.
Compliance Lite is free until the end of 2026 for anyone who signs up before October. Skip hire operators can be fully compliant for the first year of the mandate at no cost.
