ITAD software for tracking asset disposal waste
IT asset disposal facilities handle a steady stream of retired equipment. Laptops, servers, phones, printers. A lot of it carries data, and a lot of it is classified as waste the moment it arrives on site.
From October 2026, ITAD facilities that hold a waste permit and receive equipment for processing are receiving sites under the Digital Waste Tracking Service. Every incoming load needs a digital record within two working days, including the correct EWC code. If your facility operates under a registered waste exemption rather than a full permit, check your specific exemption category with your regulator, since DEFRA has not confirmed a firm Phase 1 date for that group in the way it has for permit holders.
Electronic waste has its own EWC codes, and getting them right matters. LoadLog validates the code as you enter it and flags entries that do not match the waste type. A laptop arriving for refurbishment is coded differently from a device going straight to shredding, and the record has to reflect that.
LoadLog records the load, checks the carrier registration and captures the digital signature, then submits the record to DEFRA automatically. The whole thing works from a tablet at the intake desk.
Compliance Lite is free until the end of 2026 for anyone who signs up before October. ITAD operators can meet the first year of the mandate without paying a subscription.
