Built for weighbridge traffic

Landfill sites take the heaviest traffic in the industry. Mixed municipal waste, construction and demolition arisings, and cover soils all arrive by the lorry load. In England and Wales, every load received at a permitted site has had to be reported to DEFRA since 1 October 2026, within two working days. Scotland and Northern Ireland follow in January 2027.

What every landfill receipt needs

Each record needs the waste description, EWC code, quantity, carrier and vehicle details, arrival date and time, and the receiving site's permit number. The report is due within two working days, starting the day after the load arrives. In England and Wales the duty applies from 1 October 2026; Scotland and Northern Ireland follow in January 2027. The waste transfer note still has to be completed alongside the receipt.

The waste description and the EWC code do most of the work in the record, so both are checked before submission.

From weighbridge tickets to DEFRA drafts

For sites where every vehicle is weighed, the weighbridge already holds the data. Export the day's tickets as a CSV and import them into LoadLog; nothing is created until you approve the preview, and the day's loads arrive as drafts ready to submit in one batch.

Permit returns still apply

Digital waste tracking is an additional duty. Waste returns under your environmental permit continue as normal, and hazardous waste consignee returns continue where they apply. The service does not replace either.
